Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a practice that involves conscious breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system, release emotional blockages, and enhance overall well-being.

How does Breathwork work?
By changing the way we breathe, we influence oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the body, which can help shift mental, emotional, and physical states. Different techniques can activate, balance, or calm the nervous system.

What are the benefits of Breathwork?

  • Reduces stress and anxiety

  • Enhances emotional release and processing

  • Improves sleep quality

  • Increases self-awareness and mindfulness

  • Supports trauma healing

  • Boosts energy and focus

What types of Breathwork do you offer?
I offer weekly functional breathwork classes, one-on-one Transformational Breathwork sessions, and trauma-informed breathwork designed for emotional regulation and healing.

What should I expect in a Breathwork session?
Sessions vary depending on the type of Breathwork. A session may include guided breathing techniques, intention setting, body awareness, and post-session integration. Some people experience emotional releases, physical sensations, or deep relaxation.

Is Transformational Breathwork safe for everyone?
While this conscious connected breathwork technique is powerful and transformative, it may not be suitable for everyone. Please read the contraindications below before booking a session.

Contraindications for Transformational Breathwork

Breathwork is generally safe, but certain conditions require caution. If you have any of the following, please consult a medical professional before practicing:

  • Respiratory Conditions – Severe asthma, COPD, or chronic respiratory issues.

  • Neurological Conditions – Epilepsy or history of seizures.

  • Mental Health Conditions – Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder

  • Pregnancy – Some Breathwork techniques may not be safe for expectant mothers. Functional breathing can be practiced safely with guidance.

  • Glaucoma or Retinal Issues – Intense breathing may increase intraocular pressure.

What if I have a contraindication?
Breathwork is versatile, and there are gentler techniques tailored to different needs. If you have any concerns, I am happy to discuss a breathwork plan that is safe and effective for you.
